Health Visitor 4 U can offer support contacts and packages relating to your emotional health. Postnatal depression (PND) is often not understood by those who experience it, yet 1 in 3 will suffer from it.

It is often not a subject that mothers feel they can discuss openly for fear of being labelled. Many mothers hide their feelings from family and friends If you feel something isn’t quite right and maybe hasn’t been for some time, it may be possible that you have post natal depression. The first step to recovery is admitting to yourself that you may be depressed.

At Health Visitor 4 U we have had additional training in assessing and managing post natal depression including use of the Edinburgh Post Natal Depression Scale.

If we assess you as being depressed we will inform your GP and NHS health Visitor with your permission. We would offer you up to 6 listening visits before review. If necessary we can refer you to more specialised counsellors.

Please contact us to arrange an assessment or for more information.
